Alpha is your opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a friendly atmosphere where no question about life and God is seen as too simple or too hostile. No question is too simple, too tough or too out there. Try us.
What can I expect?
Over the 11 weeks you can expect relevant topics, relatable hosts, and a relaxed environment. Each evening begins with a meal, providing an opportunity to get to know others in a casual setting. This is followed by a talk, which examines a different aspect of the Christian faith, then open discussion.
When Is Our Next Alpha?
Our next Alpha began on Wednesday March 29th at 6:15 right here at Smythe Street Cathedral – 913 Smythe Street. It is not too late to join in, if you would like to be part of Alpha, register online and come out on Wednesday, April 5 at 6:15 PM.
What Can I Expect?
Each night begins at 6:15 with a great meal and a time to relax and chat with others. This is followed by a video teaching session that is engaging and informative. After the video, there is a short refreshment break, then a time for discussion with your group. As previously stated, the atmosphere is open and friendly, and invites questions and inquiries.
Some of the questions we’ll explore are:
- How does God guide us?
- Who is Jesus?
- Why and how do I pray?
- How can I develop a relationship with God?
- What about the Church?
- Is there more to life than this?
Who’s it for?
Everyone. Over 19 million people have attended Alpha courses in tens of thousands of churches, cafes, workplaces and pubs around the world.
