KONNECT partners with parents to inspire children to follow Jesus Christ
KONNECT kidz range in age from birth to the end of Grade 5.
Join us weekly on Sunday’s during our Morning Services at 9:00am & 11:00am. Join us for a great time developing friendships, and experiencing innovative approaches to the Bible and application in our every day lives.
Babies – Preschool
First impressions are important. That’s why the First Look curriculum is designed to give preschool children a first impression of their loving Heavenly Father. The curriculum keeps it simple and fun, repeating one basic truth about God all month long. First Look also helps children understand worship and introduces them to small group time. It encourages children to talk to God any time at any place.
It’s our goal that by the time one of our children are school-aged, we want them to know these three basic truths:
- God made me.
- God loves me.
- Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Nursing Mom’s Room
If you are looking for a private space to nurse your child, during Sunday services, we have a room available in the church office for you to use. It has comfortable chairs, a change pad, spare diapers and a feed of the service audio.
Babies & Toddlers
We believe that it is never too early to begin instilling values into the lives of our children. Babies & Toddlers believes in quality care for your little one. Operating at a 1 volunteer to every 3 babies ratio you can be assured your baby will be in good hands while attending our church service.
Age 2 to 5 year olds
These busy little critters are continually exploring and asking questions and we want to be sure that before they are 5 years old they know God is their creator, their Heavenly Father and their friend.
For our Grade K-5 kids we are using the 252 Basics curriculum focusing on 3 Basic Truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52.
- I need to make the wise choice.
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
By the time children reach the fifth grade, we want them to understand and own these 3 Basic Truths, so they’re reinforced each week. We also focus on a core virtue each month. This virtue is supported by the weekly bottom line—the learning aim for the day.
On the whole, 252 Basics utilizes Bible stories, a core virtue, and a memory verse each month while offering engaging presentations of the 3 Basic Truths. We also throw in some handy illustrations of how God works in our lives to make us more like Him. We do this through an engaging large group gathering for worship and teaching, alongside a more personal small group time with adult leaders.
Impress (these commands) on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
While we want to teach your children about God we know that no one has more influence than you. We want to partner with you to direct your kids toward God. We explain this using the ‘Orange Strategy.’ By combining the critical influences of the light of the church (yellow) and the love of the family (red) the Orange Strategy shows a generation who God is more effectively than either could alone.
Here are a few ways we wish to do that:
- Monthly Parent Cue Cards (or email)—cuing you on what your child is learning at Konnect and giving you ideas and activities you can do at home to reinforce them
- The Parent Cue App—the phone app with cool activities you can do together, the song of the month, a podcast just for you and much more! Available for iPhone/iOS and Android.
- A Parent Blog (http://www.orangeparents.org) designed with your needs in mind, connecting your family to a larger community of parents and leaders to expand your ideas, skills and influence as a parent
The average child will spend over 1000 hours every year in school and they will spend less than 50 hours in church. The average parent has more than 10 times the opportunities to discuss spiritual issues in one year than a church leader does in 10 years. The church has limited potential to impact the heart of your child. WHAT HAPPENS AT HOME in many ways is more important than what happens at church! So lets partner together and show a generation who God is!
In an effort to ensure your child’s safety, as well as the safety of our volunteers, all children, parents and visitors upstairs on a Sunday will be required to wear a corresponding parent/child registration sticker with ID number or a “Safe Zone Approved” badge.
The Parent ID number will be used in the event that we need to contact you during service. In the corner of the media projection slide your child’s id number will flash requesting you come and get them.
To properly manage traffic flow when registering your child in the morning, please use the front stairwell. In the event that you would like to come collect your child during the service, or at the end of service please use the back stairwell.
