Each year we focus on a few projects as a church in the Christmas season to make a difference in the lives of people both locally and globally. We give you the information on them ahead of time so you can thoughtfully and prayerful consider how you could take part. Here are the projects we undertaking this year.

Water for Haiti

In rural areas of Haiti, only 50% of people have access to clean water. We are partnering with World Vision to provide safe and accessible water, construct water stations & latrines and rehabilitate wells to create real and lasting change for Haitian families.

The World Vision WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) program that provides clean water sources and education is one of the most effective tools and approaches to overcome cholera, a deadly water-borne disease responsible for numerous deaths in Haiti.

With World Vision and FreddyLink, we are partnering with a new community to see them move out of poverty to self-sustainability and health. This project is a key component in seeing them move forward.

In addition to giving in offerings, you can sign-up for a World Vision fundraising page to share online and raise funds from your connections for this project. Click here to sign up. (We have teams set-up for our youth and children to use if you sign up your child for a page, just seach under ‘find your team’ and type NextGen to have them be part of their group.)

Christmas in the City Offering

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Words of Jesus – Matthew 25:40 NIV)

As a church, we provide assistance to individuals and families in the Fredericton area during the Christmas season and through the year. This year our offering provides food baskets for families, gifts for families at the Downtown Clinic and those experiencing homelessness, and help for others in need.

In addition to giving in the offering, starting on November 24th, we will have tables at the back of the church where you can sign-up to purchase items like gift-cards, clothing items and specific presents for people we are assisting in the city, or package and deliver food hampers. To offer to serve please contact Pastor Wayne at 458-8206, Ext. 21

Also, if you know of a family that will be finding it hard to have a Christmas meal, please let us know. Contact Pastor Wayne at 458-8206, Ext. 21. All requests will be handled with care and confidentiality.

Completed Project

Operation Christmas Child

A program where people take a shoebox and fill it with items to be given to a child in a developing country. Boxes are distributed by local churches as a means of showing God’s love and to present the gospel. Boxes can be picked up in the Fellowship Hall. A small donation is required to help cover shipping.

Thanks for participating. Operation Christmas Child is wrapped up for this year.

Thanks for considering how you can help us work together to ‘Make a Difference this Christmas.’
