
Smythe Street Church is looking to hire a part-time individual for our NextGen Ministry. This position is specific to our elementary-aged students with the potential to become full-time employment. Our NextGen Ministry is a team approach: a diversified experience that values and empowers students.
Duties:
- Sunday ministry: connecting with students and families, leading teams who prepare and execute engaging, developmentally appropriate programming, including Bible story and small group time
- Partnering with families
- Leadership training and meetings
- Special community outreach events
- Midweek ministry potential
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with elementary-aged children
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong classroom management and behavioural guidance skills
- Self-motivated and directed
- Organized
- Creative
- Adaptable
- Team player with a desire to collaborate with others
- Embraces a philosophy to partner with families
- Relevant education is considered an asset (an Education degree, Basic Christian Education).

- Must agree and work under the statement of faith, vision, mission, and values as set out by Smythe Street Church leadership.
